Carson - 4 years old!

My sweet Carson is 4 years old!!

He is a wonderful little boy!
He is sweet and funny.
He is always happy and has been since birth.

Carson has a very kind little heart! He loves to draw pictures for people.  I have at least 6 taped up next to my bed.  He also loves to shop and anytime we are in Target he insists on buying a necklace for his friends (me, teachers, babysitters, grandmas, etc.).

He likes to keep up with his siblings and is quite proud of writing his name (along with most letters), counting to 100, and simple addition problems.   He knows the letter sounds and can sound out 1 syllable words.

Carson has the best imagination and can play for hours without needing entertainment.  He has been quite focused on the characters from the movie Planes for quite some time.  He builds an airport and fleet of planes/fighter jets out of legos most days.

Carson has a tender heart.  He remembers when he feelings get hurt and tries hard to hurt others feelings.

Carson has developed a few more opinions since turning four.  They almost all reflect his desire to be big!  For example, while riding bikes I require him to stay next to me when we are walking on the "parkway."  It's not super busy but it just a bike lane, rather than a sidewalk.   I let Lainey and Erik go a short distance ahead of me, as they reliably stay right next to the grass.    Carson doesn't like this rule and yesterday in protest flopped himself down in the bike lane.  He quickly got up, but then went as slow as possible, using only one foot to propel himself on his balance bike.  Haha!    Once we got to the bike trail, he took happily took off, as he knows he can go ahead of me on that trail (guess his other foot started working again).  Ha!

Carson goes to preschool for 7 hours a week (T/H).  He likes school and is a wonderful student.  He is my tender little boy though and definitely prefers the days he is able to stay home.   He has wonderful teachers!  This is the 4th year I've had my child in this preschool and I have absolutely zero bad things to say about it.  It is truly a wonderful school!   His favorite things at preschool are playing outside, free play, yoga, and his friend Carson.

Carson will be old enough to attend pre-k next fall at the public school. It's a lottery system essentially as there isn't enough space for everyone.  I am planning to apply for a space, but may turn it down, because I am pretty sure my sweet, tender guy would strongly prefer an extra year with just 3 days a week of preschool. I also really like the public school program, but it is highly academic and Carson thrives on free play (more than Erik/Lainey) and I'm not ready to cut into that time yet.

I love my sweet little Carson.  He has been such a joy from day one, I feel so lucky I get to be him mom!
